This morning prayer is heard daily throughout the city from a nearby mosque in downtown Beirut, Lebanon.
The mosque serves as a place where Muslims can come together for salat (prayer) (Arabic: صلاة‎, ṣalāt) as well as a center for information, education, and dispute settlement. The Imam leads the prayer.

This sequence of images was shot at sunrise.
Photoshop was used to merge the series into one panoramic view.
After Effects was then used to animate the pan, create the depth of field, color correct and composite the birds which were created using Trapcode Particular.

The images and audio were captured using a Canon 5D with a mini hot shoe shotgun mic.

'MICRO/MACRO' is a collaborative video projection installation made in conjunction with the visual performance collective "Zygosis".
The video projections juxtapose the coexisting relationship between micro and macro worlds using only still photography.
The installation is to be played simultaneously on adjacent walls.

'MACRO'-This time lapse sequence explores the stars and space while giving perspective to our place among these celestial bodies.
The sequence was over 10,000 images, one every 10 sec., and assembled in After Effects.
It was captured between the hours of 11pm-7:30am in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia.

'MICRO'-These photographs explore abstract and discarded materials that manifest into celestial bodies and obscure microcosmic worlds.
These sequences were shot using a macro lens, assembled using After Effects and later edited in Final Cut.

Photographs may be more memorable than moving images because they are a slice of time rather than a flow.

It seems positively unnatural to travel for pleasure without taking a camera along.

Beirut Beirut (Arabic: بيروت‎ Bayrūt, French: Beyrouth) is the capital and largest city of Lebanon with a population ranging from some 1 million to more than 2 million as of 2007.
After the destructive Lebanese civil war, Beirut underwent major reconstruction, and the redesigned historic city center, marina, pubs and nightlife districts have once again rendered it a tourist attraction.
In 2011, MasterCard Index revealed that Beirut has the second highest visiting spending levels in the Middle East and Africa.

This was not my interest.
My interest was photographing the people and capture the faces enriched with tradition and history. I wanted these street portraits to reveal the proud, yet humble nature of a resilient people who have repeatedly had to endure and rebuild due to so much civil strife.

This time lapse sequence was captured in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia between the hours of 11pm-7:30am.
The sequence was over 10,000 exposures, one every 10 sec.
The images were then assembled in After Effects.
A plastic grocery bag was used to protect the camera from the morning dew.
